Known Limitations and Workarounds

 

Despite our best efforts, there may be some limitations to the accessibility of our website due to the nature of the Wix platform. Please contact us if you observe an issue not listed below.

• Keyboard Focus Order: While Wix automatically sets a logical tab order for many elements, highly customized or layered designs with overlapping elements may cause the keyboard focus to jump unexpectedly. This can make it difficult for users who rely on keyboard navigation (without a mouse) to tab through the content in a logical reading order.

  • Workaround: We are regularly auditing our site with the Wix Accessibility Wizard and other tools to identify and correct these issues. If you encounter a problem, please let us know the page and elements involved so we can address it.

• Dynamic and Custom Components: Certain dynamic elements, like custom-built galleries, sliders, or third-party widgets, may not have the necessary Accessible Rich Internet Applications (ARIA) attributes or keyboard support built in. This can make them inaccessible to screen readers or keyboard-only users.

  • Workaround: We are in the process of replacing or reconfiguring any non-compliant third-party apps. In the meantime, please contact us for an alternative way to access the content or functionality of these components.

• Custom Code Limitations: While Wix allows for the addition of custom HTML and JavaScript, this content is often placed within an iFrame. Content inside an iFrame can be difficult for screen readers to access and navigate.

  • Workaround: We are careful to use custom code only for non-essential or decorative elements. If you encounter an issue, please contact us for an alternative.

• Color and Contrast Challenges: While we adhere to WCAG color contrast guidelines, some visual styling options within Wix templates and custom designs may make it challenging to maintain the necessary contrast for all elements, particularly for users with low vision.

  • Workaround: We have manually checked and adjusted our color palette to ensure compliance where possible. We also recommend using your browser's built-in contrast settings or a browser extension for a more personalized viewing experience if needed.
